Hartford, March 26, 2007: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager/head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the Wolf Pack have released goaltender Andrew Gallant from his Amateur Tryout (ATO) agreement.

Gallant, who did not play in any games with the Wolf Pack, was recently named the 2006-07 winner of the Sid Watson Award, which goes annually to the NCAA Hockey Division III Player of the Year. In 26 appearances this year with Manhattanville College (Purchase, NY), the 24-year-old Gallant was 19-2-5, with a 1.91 goals-against average, a 92.8% save percentage and four shutouts. The 6-3, 200-pound native of Summerside, Prince Edward Island also captured ECAC Division III West Player of the Year honors. In four seasons at Manhattanville, Gallant compiled a total record of 50-10-6.

The Wolf Pack return to action this Wednesday for a special school-day game Wednesday at the Hartford Civic Center (11:00 a.m. faceoff) for the club's third annual "Sonar's Edu-Skate" game. That game will be a GEICO Connecticut Cup battle with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The two Connecticut rivals hook up again Friday night in Bridgeport (7:30). That is followed by a pair of games against the division-leading Manchester Monarchs, Saturday night in Hartford (7:00) and Sunday in Manchester (4:05).
