
Admirals Broadcaster Pete Michaud Honored

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk Admirals are proud to announce that "The Voice of the Admirals" Pete Michaud (MIH-shoo) was honored recently by the Chesapeake Athletic Club as the Hampton Roads Outstanding Sports Broadcaster for 2009.
Michaud has brought 18 seasons of experience with the Admirals to the airwaves in 2009-10. He has served as "The Voice of the Admirals" for the past 11 years.
A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Michaud has been on the air in various capacities in Hampton Roads since 1979. In addition to his hockey experience, Michaud has called minor league baseball games in Illinois, Florida and Iowa, and Division I College Basketball at Old Dominion University. He has also worked in television at WAVY 10 and WVEC 13.
Michaud has also called Norfolk Tides baseball games for the past three years. When he is not on the air, Michaud enjoys umpiring youth baseball games.
The Admirals will host a pair of games against the Syracuse Crunch on Friday and Saturday. Friday is All Faith Night with special discounted group tickets available for organizations of all faiths.
Saturday is Special Olympics Night, presented by SunTrust, and 2010 Pro Sports Calendar Giveaway Night, courtesy of Independent Lighting. Discounted fundraising tickets are available through the Admirals website with proceeds going to Special Olympics of Virginia. Plus, a limited amount of 2010 Pro Sports Calendars featuring the Admirals and Norfolk Tides will be given away at the gates.
