
Baumgartner To Enter AHL Chat Room Monday, January 11th

Manitoba Moose defenceman and Canadian AHL All-Star Captain Nolan Baumgartner will answer fans questions when he enters the AHL Chat Room at www.theahl.com on Monday, January 11th at 8:30 AM.
Fans that have questions for Baumgartner are encouraged to send their inquiries, in addition to their name and hometown, to info@ahl.com. The AHL will select approximately 10-15 questions from the fan pool and viewers will be able to read Baumgartner's answers on the league's official website, www.theahl.com or on the official Manitoba Moose website, www.moosehockey.com.
Baumgartner, 33, has appeared in 24 games this season with the Moose where he has accumulated seven points (1g & 6) along with 18 penalty minutes. Last season, the assistant captain appeared in 72 games with the club. In that time, the Calgary, AB native collected 11 goals and 22 assists for 33 points and 50 penalty minutes. Baumgartner played in 22 games in Manitoba's 2009 Calder Cup run where he collected five assists and 22 penalty minutes. Baumgartner was team captain during the 2004-05 season and scored the first-ever goal at the MTS Centre back on Nov. 17/04. In 306 career games as a Moose, Baumgartner has scored 35 goals and 116 assists for 151 points and 312 penalty minutes. He was named the team's top defenceman in 2003 and 2005.
Overall, he has played in 739 career games in the American Hockey League since 1996 including 187 games with the Portland Pirates. In his time in the AHL he has collected 75 goals and 259 assists for 334 points and 744 penalty minutes with Iowa, the Philadelphia Phantoms, Manitoba, Norfolk, and Portland. He has appeared in two AHL All-Star Classics in his career - 2005 with Manitoba and as a starter in 2007 while with Philadelphia.
Baumgartner has also played in 131 career NHL games with Dallas, the Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Washington. In that time, he's scored six goals and 39 assists for 45 points and 67 penalty minutes. His most productive season was in 2005-06 when he played in 70 games with the Canucks and scored five goals and 29 assists for 34 points and 30 penalty minutes. Baumgartner was originally drafted in the first round, 10th overall, by the Washington Capitals in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
