Reno, Nevada. - The Aces seven-game win streak came to an end Wednesday night at Greater Nevada Field. The Iowa Cubs defeated Reno by a score of 7-4. Iowa jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the third inning and never looked back. Reno chipped away with two in the bottom of the third, one in the sixth and one in the seventh. However, Iowa added two in the top of the seventh and blanked Reno the rest of the way. Newcomer Max Murphy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in his first Triple-A action. Reno starter Taylor Widener was chased with two outs in the third inning after allowing five runs on six hits. Domingo Leyba went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. The Aces will look for the series victory tomorrow night against the I-Cubs with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Roster Moves: The Arizona Diamondbacks were busy during the MLB Trade Deadline. Arizona sent right-handed pitcher Zach Grienke to the Houston Astros in exchange for four of the Astros' top 30 prospects. The boost to the Diamondbacks' farm system includes No. 3 prospect first baseman/outfielder Seth Beer, per MLB Pipeline, No. 4 right-handed pitcher J.B. Bukauskas, No. 5 righty Corbin Martin and No. 22 infielder Josh Rojas. Aces catcher John Ryan Murphy was sent to the Atlanta Braves for cash considerations and D-backs prospect Jazz Chisholm was sent to Miami for rookie right-hander Zac Gallen.
That's a First: Max Murphy joined the Reno Aces from Visalia this afternoon as part of a series of roster moves. Murphy went 2-for-3 in his first Triple-A game with a solo home run. The 26-year-old Robbinsdale, Minnesota native signed a Minor League Free Agent contract with the Diamondbacks on July 16 of this season. Murphy appeared in 11 games with Advanced-A Visalia this year. He hit .353 with four doubles and two RBI.
