Aces Snap Falcons Winning Streak with 4-1 Win

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons had their five-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday, as the Alaska Aces picked up a 3-1 win in front of 3,298 fans at Save Mart Center.

After a scoreless first period, Alaska got on the board first 5:52 into the second period. Olivier Filion hit Josh Soares speeding down the left-wing wall, and he redirected the puck past Jake Moreland to give the Aces the lead.

Fresno pulled even with a power-play goal at 12:34. Kenny Bernard gathered in a pass at the center of the blue line, and beat goaltender Mike Brown with a long wrist shot for his 11th goal of the season.

Alaska went back on top 5:09 into the third period as F.P. Guenette snapped a shot past Moreland from the high slot for his 16th goal of the year.

Guenette scored his second of the night at 15:11, skating in alone on Moreland and beating him to the five hole, extending the Aces' lead to 3-1.

Kimbi Daniels scored an empty-net goal at 19:31 to set the final.

The Falcons open a four-game road trip on Friday, opening a two-game series in Stockton against the Thunder at 7:30 p.m. Catch all of the action on 790 ESPN Radio, The Deuce, starting with the Port of Subs Pre-Game Show at 7:15.

Fresno returns home on Friday, March 21, hosting the Bakersfield Condors at 7:30 p.m. The first, 2,000 fans in attendance receive a Falcons hat courtesy of Supercuts and 104.1 FM. Following the game, Falcons players and staff members will have their heads shaved as part of a St. Baldrick's Day Foundation. All money raised will benefit pediatric cancer research.
