
Aces Sign Forward Alex Hudson

The Alaska Aces have signed free agent forward Alex Hudson, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Sunday. Hudson is expected to be in the lineup on Sunday afternoon as the Aces finish their three-game road trip in Ontario. The Aces return to Anchorage to host the Ontario Reign on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 11, and 12. Hudson, 25, is in his second pro season after splitting time between the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL and Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League as a rookie last year. In his pro career Hudson has skated in 48 career ECHL games totaling 21 points (7g, 14a) and 59 penalty minutes. The 6'1", 212 lbs. Hudson is a native of Corona, California. He appeared in 15 games with the Monarchs last season, earning nine penalty minutes. Hudson became a free agent when he was released by Bakersfield on Thursday.
Prior to his pro career Hudson spent three and a half seasons at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, where he served as a one-time captain of the Mavericks. He totaled 82 points (37g, 45a) in 130 collegiate games. Prior to attending UNO, Hudson played four seasons in the USHL for the Tri-City Storm.
