Caron Reassigned to Houston

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that D Josh Caron has been recalled to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Houston Aeros, by their NHL affiliate the Minnesota Wild.

Caron has appeared in the last four games for the Solar Bears, helping the team to a 3-1-0-0 record over that stretch while picking up nine penalty minutes. Caron dropped the gloves last night in the first period against Toledo F Stephon Thorne for his first fighting major with Orlando since November 11 against Gwinnett. The Campbell River, BC, native has played 20 games for the Solar Bears this season, scoring one goal and adding one assist to go along with 39 penalty minutes (PIM). At the AHL level, Caron has played 10 games with Houston this year, picking up seven PIM. The rookie defenseman last appeared in a contest with the Aeros on December 22.

The Solar Bears are on the road for their next four games and return to the Amway Center to face the Wheeling Nailers on Thursday, January 17, at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 19, at 7:00 p.m., and Monday, January 21, for a special holiday start time of 3:00 p.m. Good seats are still available.
