ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Reigning ECHL Goaltender of the Month Frank Doyle shut Bakersfield out for nearly 50 minutes while Eric Boguniecki contributed a goal and an assist as Alaska rolled to a 4-1 victory Wednesday before 3,637 at Sullivan Arena.

The Aces (21-21-4 overall) have won six of their last seven games at home and regained sole possession of third place in the West Divsion heading into the weekend, when two more games await with the Condors (26-14-3) Friday and Saturday night at 7:15 p.m. Both tilts will be broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM, with coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. Bakersfield, still comfortably atop the Pacific Division, has lost three games in a row for the first time all season.

Judd Blackwater scored his second goal in an Alaska sweater on a tip-in with his team on the power play at 7:06 of the first period. The Aces generally controlled the play for much of the first two periods, and their relentless pressure created three second period goals, the first coming when Evan Kotsopoulos found Justin Johnson in the slot at 4:05. A shaky Condors clearing pass was intercepted by Boguniecki, who proceeded to beat Bakersfield netminder Timo Pielmeier with a backhander at 9:42, extending the lead to 3-0. Another effective cycle late in the period led to Merit Waldrop's backdoor feed to defenseman T.J. Fast, who tapped home his fourth goal in seven games with 2:15 left in the frame.

A shorthanded goal by Eric Regan spoiled Doyle's bid for his second whitewash of the season with 10:21 left in regulation, but the outcome was never in doubt. Each team managed 28 shots on goal. Doyle now owns an 8-2-2 record in an Alaska uniform to go along with a 2.11 GAA and.934 save percentage.
