Aces 15 (25-13), Isotopes 2 (12-26) - Greater Nevada Field | Reno, NV

AT THE DISH: The Topes were held to five straight hits the second consecutive game in Reno ... Sam Hilliard went 2-for-4 with a double and solo homer ... Rio Ruiz had a base hit to extend his hitting streak to eight games and is now 16-for-33 on this road trip.

TOEING THE RUBBER: Starter Brandon Gold (1-4, 7.71) permitted just one run to score in his first four innings of work but exited after a single and walk in the fifth ... Jake Bird allowed both inherited runners to score and then allowed four runs of his own in 1.2 IP ... Antonio Santos and Joe Harvey combined to surrender eight runs and four walks in two combined innings.

TOPES TIDBITS: The Isotopes were on the wrong side of history Friday night as Reno's Daulton Varsho homered twice in the eighth inning (solo and grand slam), becoming the first Albuquerque opponent to accomplish the feat of a multi-homer frame ... Reno has scored 20 runs after the sixth inning in the first two games of this set and 48 past the sixth since Sunday, going back to their last series at Las Vegas ... A grand slam was hit by an opposing batter for the second game in a row after Andy Young did so Thursday.

ON DECK: Ryan Castellani (1-5, 7.39) will be tasked with slowing down the Aces bats in Game 3 of this series, which starts at 7:35 PM MT (6:35 PT) on Saturday. Host Reno is scheduled to send Josh Green (3-1, 4.71) to the hill.
