
2nd Annual "Be A Leader" Community Service Day A Tremendous Success

WORCESTER - Worcester Sharks President and CEO Michael T. Lehr along with Abigail Williams, the principle of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, announced that the the 2nd annual "Be a Leader" Community Service Day at the Elm Park Community School in Worcester on Tuesday, November 3rd was a tremendous success.
The Elm Park Community School of Worcester was chosen from several entries collected at www.SharksAHL.com.
This year, Consigli Construction volunteered their equipment and services of ten project managers for the revamping of the inside and outside of the Elm Park Community School at no cost. The reconfiguration of the main entrance, painting of basketball court, construction of new benches, and refurbishing the outdoor walkway, were just some of the projects completed on Tuesday.
"The Sharks got everything accomplished today that would have taken us twenty years to complete," said Vice Principle of the Elm Park Community School Rob Pelczarski. "We can not thank everyone enough. Our school looks great!"
"We made a promise from Day 1 that the Sharks would be a main fixture in the Worcester Community," said Lehr. We (the Sharks and the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates) are fortunate to have great partners like Consigli Construction to step up this year. I would like to thank the city of Worcester, Department of Public Works and Public Schools for making this project a reality."
The Sharks, the office of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, and Consigli Construction, rolled up their sleeves and revamped the exterior and interior and of the Elm Park Community School in Worcester.
"We had a great response from our entire staff wanting to help out in the Worcester community," said Mike Haselton of Consigli Construction. "Today was a team effort and we were glad that we could partner with the Sharks in this great event."
"We had an absolute blast today giving back to our community," said Abby Williams, principal of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates. "We are thrilled that this has become an annual event and that Consigli Construction joined our efforts."
Created at the start of the 2007-08 season by the Worcester Sharks and the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, the "Be a Leader" program is designed to provide students between the grades of 4-6 with leadership tips to enrich their lives as well as others around them. Sharks players, staff, and Mascot Finz lead the school assemblies along with the principle of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates, Abby Williams.
Each participant in the program receives one ticket to an upcoming 2009-10 regular season Sharks home game and a "Be a Leader" promotional item compliments of the Law Firm of Abigail Williams and Associates.
