The B-Sens hosted the Rochester Amerks for the first time at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in the 2009-10 season. Jesse Winchester recorded a goal and an assist, while defenseman Derek Smith scored his second goal of the season. Andy Chiodo stopped 33 of 36 shots faced, but it wasn't enough to stop red-hot Rochester who went on to win their eighth straight match by a score of 4-2.
Record: 3-5-2-0
Standings: The B-Sens are currently tied with Norfolk for sixth place in the East division (eight points)
THIS WEEK...
Wednesday, Nov. 4 @ Albany River Rats (Carolina Hurricanes)
The B-Sens hit the road for a nine day road trip beginning with a stop in Albany, N.Y. to face the River Rats this Wednesday. The Rats are currently tied with Adirondack for third place in the East Division with 11 points (5-5-0-1). This will be the first of eight regular season meetings between the two teams. The B-Sens have an all-time advantage over the Albany River Rats on their home ice 15-11-1-2-0.
Friday, Nov. 6 @ Hamilton Bulldogs (Montreal Canadians) at Bell Centre in Montreal
Sunday, Nov. 8 vs. Hamilton Bulldogs at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa
The B-Sens are set to face the North Division's Hamilton Bulldogs in back to back games this coming weekend - first on the ice at the Bell Centre in Montreal, home to Hamilton's parent Montreal Canadians. The second match is a Sunday afternoon matinee at Scotiabank Place, home of the Ottawa Senators. All-time the B-Sens and Hamilton Bulldogs are evenly matched, 7-7-1-2-1. However, the Dogs could post a tough challenge as they currently trail the Rochester Amerks by only one point, ranking second place in the North Division (7-0-1-3, 18 points).
B-SENS BRINGING IT HOME TO THE COMMUNITY...
Monday, Nov. 2 - 7th Annual Binghamton Senators Pottery Paint
Clayground, Vestal, N.Y.
Binghamton Senators players spent Monday afternoon painting one-of-a-kind pottery pieces, which will be auctioned off during their Dec. 12, 2009 home game versus the Syracuse Crunch. All proceeds from the upcoming auction will benefit the Magic Paintbrush Project, a Binghamton-based charity that supports the special needs community through art therapy.
Tuesday, Nov. 3 - Booster Club Meeting
The Relief Pitcher, Binghamton, N.Y.
Paul Baier and Erik Condra will make a special appearance at the Binghamton Senators' Booster Club meeting. Booster club members have the unique opportunity to get to know the players and ask them questions.
