
Houston Aeros To Honor Troops Saturday

HOUSTON - The Houston Aeros announced today the details of their 6th Annual Military Appreciation Night as they host the San Antonio Rampage Saturday, November 7, 7:35 PM at Toyota Center.
"Military Appreciation Night is a special night for everyone involved," said Aeros Executive Vice President of Business Operations Jamie Spencer. "The troops and their families make tremendous sacrifices for our country and this is a way for us to express our appreciation to them."
The Aeros will host active duty personnel, the families of military serving in war zones, families who have lost loved ones, as well as dozens of newly enlisted military at the game. The night will include special presentations to the active duty personnel, including a number of service personnel recently back from Iraq, and Afghanistan. The 72nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team - Texas Army National Guard will do the Color Guard, Corporal Johnathon Michael Oliver will do the ceremonial puck drop, the Honorary Aero will be a representative from Impact-A-Hero, and the Aeros will have a rendition of "God Bless America" sung during the first intermission by The Combined Elementary Choirs from La Porte ISD. In addition, the first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive an Aeros camouflage baseball cap sponsored by Bull Shirts.
To help provide tickets for military personnel and their families, the Aeros are seeking ticket sponsors of 10, 20, 50 or 100 tickets. Sponsors of 10 tickets will received an Aeros autographed puck, 20 tickets will receive an autographed photo and puck, and sponsors of 50 or more tickets will receive an autographed stick, puck and an equal number of tickets for use at an upcoming Aeros game. Prices start as low as $100 for 10 tickets and can be purchased exclusively through the Aeros front office at (713) 974-PUCK (7825).
The team is also asking fans to email photos of loved ones that have served our country to be shown on the video board throughout the game. Photos can be emailed to photos@aeros.com and one lucky fan will win a meet-and-greet with an Aeros player after the game. The winner will be selected at random and notified via email. The deadline to email photos is Friday, November 6 at 2:00 PM.
The Aeros begin their brief two-game homestand Thursday against the Manitoba Moose, 7:05 PM at Toyota Center. The game will be broadcast live on 1070 AM - KNTH and ahllive.com.
