Los Angeles Sparks News Release

On how it feels going to the all-star game as a member of the Sparks:

"It's a different situation, a different team. It's good to know that I have been able to come in and get acclimated. As far as getting used to the city, getting used to my teammates, and being able to go out there and perform at an all-star level."

On how it feels to be a representative for the Sparks:

"I just have to go out there and represent. Represent L.A. and represent the Sparks and all that the yellow and purple stand for."

On whether there is an aspiration to strive for the MVP title this year, to keep it within the Sparks, since Teasley was named MVP in 2003 and Leslie was named MVP in 2004:

"It would be great if it happens, but I'm just going out there to have fun and play amongst some of the best players in the WNBA and just have a good time. It's for the fans. The all-star game is high scoring, a little shake-n-bake, not too serious, but you want to win. I have been on the east and I don't think we have ever beaten the west. I am on the Westside now; we have to keep it going."

On whether she is motivated to play harder since she was not voted in by the fans as a starter:

"It's a popularity contest, I can't control that. I know when I was in D.C. we had a lot of fans that were involved and that voted a lot, so I was always a starter. I don't know how much the fans voted here. But, it doesn't matter to me, just to be an all-star is great."
