
13 Not So Lucky for Portland, Fightins Win 5-4

Reading, PA - Reading CF Roman Quinn delivered a bases-loaded RBI single in the bottom of the 13 th inning, as the Fightin Phils rallied back for a 5-4, 13-inning win over the Portland Sea Dogs on Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium.
Angelo Mora (4-for-6) led off the 13th inning with a triple off losing pitcher Heri Quevedo. Portland intentionally walked the next two hitters, setting up Quinn's long fly ball single over the head of CF Henry Ramos.
Reading's bullpen worked seven frames, allowing just one run. Edubray Ramos pitched the final two innings to secure the victory.
RHP Teddy Stankiewicz was terrific in his Double-A debut for the Sea Dogs. The Texas native worked six innings on just one run. Reading's Ricardo Pinto took a no-decision in his first Double-A outing, giving up three runs over six frames.
Trailing 1-0, Portland tied the game in the fourth inning on a solo-homer by Henry Ramos. The 'Dogs scored single runs in four straight innings to lead 4-1 thru seven. Ramos added a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Wendell Rijo's first Double-A hit was a homer and Cole Sturgeon knocked in a run with a single.
Reading cut the deficit to 4-3 in the eighth inning. With two outs, Jorge Alfaro singled and Dylan Cousins hit a two-run homer. The Fightins tied the game with two outs in the ninth inning on a wild pitch by Rob Wort.
Sturgeon, Aneury Tavarez and Jantzen Witte each had two hits for the Sea Dogs.
The Sea Dogs begin the second part of their roadtrip on Monday night in Trenton against the Thunder (Yankees affiliate). Pre-Game coverage on the U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network begins at 6:40 PM with first pitch at 7:00. RHP Ty Buttrey makes his Double-A debut for Portland. LHP Jordan Montgomery makes the start for the Yankees affiliate.
