January 15, 2017 - Coming off a close game against the Flint Firebirds the night previous, the Otters traveled to Kitchener to complete their three-game weekend. Kitchener, the sixth ranked team in the Western Conference, would be the matchup against Erie (third in the conference) if the OHL playoffs were to start on Sunday. Erie was unable to solve netminder Luke Opilka in the playoff preview, losing 2-1. January 10, 2017 - With Dylan Strome, Erik Cernak, and Taylor Raddysh rejoining the team after the World Junior Championships, the Otters met Kitchener in Erie looking to avenge a 5-2 loss to the Rangers on January 1st. January 9, 2017 - Erie, Pennsylvania - Erie Otters General Manager Dave Brown announced this evening that the team has acquired defenseman Cameron Lizotte from the Barrie Colts in exchange for three choices at future OHL Priority Selections. Lizotte, 6'-2", 195-pound defenseman, has appeared in 27 games this season with the Barrie Colts, recording five assists and 44 PIM. January 9, 2017 - Erie, Pennsylvania - Erie Otters General Manager Dave Brown announced today that the team has acquired forward Anthony Cirelli from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for Allan McShane and draft choices in upcoming Ontario Hockey League Priority Selections. Cirelli, a 6'-1", 184-pound center, committed to the Oshawa Generals in 2014 following a free agent training camp invite.
