FRIDAY NIGHT: For the second night in a row, the TinCaps won in front of a sellout crowd at Parkview Field as they defeated the Dragon, 5-2. Osvaldo Hernande no-hit the Dragons for six innings before allowing a single to lead off the top of the seventh. At the plate, Gabriel Arias hammered his 3rd home run of the season. The 'Caps out-hit their visitors 10-4. Left fielder Robby Podorsky, Arias, and second baseman Esteury Ruiz were all in the 2-hit club. Fort Wayne stole 7 bases as a team, with Ruiz swiping 3 and Podorsky taking 2.

ROSTER MOVES: Today the Padres promoted lefty reliever Travis Radke from Fort Wayne to Double-A San Antonio. Righty Reiss Knehr (Reese Kuh-NEER) has joined the TinCaps from the rookie-level Arizona League Padres. Radke was a Midwest League All-Star. Among MWL pitchers with 50+ innings pitched this season, Radke ranked 1st in WHIP (0.79), 1st in FIP (2.09), 1st in xFIP (2.20), 1st in K% (35%), 1st in Swing & Miss% (17.9%), 1st in K-BB% (30%), 2nd in batting average against (.172), 3rd in K/9 (12.16), 3rd in K/BB (8.56), 5th in BB/9 (1.42), 5th in ERA (1.74), and 6th in BB% (4%). He was also leading the TinCaps in volunteering for community appearances... Knehr, a 21-year-old from Glen Head, N.Y. (Long Island), was selected by the Padres in the 20th round of June's MLB Draft out of Fordham University. In 12 appearances at the rookie level, he posted a 2.84 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 19.0 innings, holding opponents to a .167 batting average.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Osvaldo Hernandez has the MWL's lowest ERA (1.92).... Aaron Leasher ranks 8th in ERA (3.44)... Jeisson Rosario is tied for 5th in runs (66), 6th in OBP (.384), and 8th in walks (55) ... Esteury Ruiz is tied for 3rd in stolen bases (37)... Robbie Podorsky is 9th in SB (23).

LEASHER READING: Among MWL qualifying pitchers, Leasher ranks 4th in FIP (3.49), 4th in HR/9 (0.39), 9th in K% (22%), 9th lowest Fly Ball% (37%), and 10th in K/9 (8.74). His .342 BABIP is the 6th highest in the league. (An average BABIP is about .300, so this could suggest he has received some poor fortune on balls batted into play.)

IN CONTROL: TinCaps pitchers have walked the fewest batters in the Midwest League this season - 310 in 947.0 IP. That's only 2.9 BB/9. Fort Wayne also has the best ratio of strikeouts to walks (3.11/1).

SUWI 3: Friday was the first time in 82 games this season that Jack Suwinski batted 3rd. In 125 games last year he hit 3rd once. Suwinski is in the 3-hole again tonight.

HEATING UP: Gabriel Arias is on a season-best 13-game on-base streak. Going back to July 19, the 18-year-old from Venezuela has a team-best .389 OBP and is 14-for-47 (.298) with 2 doubles, 2 HRs, 7 RBIs, 7 walks, and 8 runs.

HUNTER HEROICS: 100% of Hunter Jarmon's hits in the Midwest League have been walk-off hits. In his TinCaps debut Thursday, Jarmon delivered a game-winning hit to dead-center field in the home 9th to lift Fort Wayne to a 5-4 win over Dayton. Jarmon was added to the team's roster on Wednesday, though he didn't make it to the Summit City until early Thursday morning thanks to 4 delayed flights. Just a few hours of sleep proved to be enough for the former Oregon State wide receiver.

HOME SWEET HOME: The TinCaps are 20-33 (.377) on the road this season compared to 31-25 (.554) at Parkview Field. At home, the team is batting .262 averaging 4.7 runs/game. On the road, the team is batting .223 with 3.7 R/G.

ON THE SHELF: The TinCaps currently have 4 key players on the Disabled List in catcher Luis Campusano (mild concussion), starting pitcher Mason Thompson (tricep strain), infielder Justin Lopez (broken left thumb), and outfielder Tirso Ornelas (right wrist).

PUTTING THE FORT IN FORTNITE: In advance of "Fortnite Night" at Parkview Field on Saturday, Aug. 11, on Thursday, TinCaps catcher/first baseman Jalen Washington and lefty reliever Fred Schlichtholz played Fortnite from the "TinCapsBaseball" account, interacting with friends from around the nation and even outside the country. Starter MacKenzie Gore also joined in. On the 11th, the team will be wearing special jerseys that fans in attendance will have a chance to win. More details are available at TinCapsFortnite.com.
