Offense Falls Quiet in Rubber Match

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The IronPIgs were held quiet on Wednesday in their rubber match with Durham, falling 2-0. It's the second series lost by the Pigs in their last three sets, and gives Durham a victory in the season series by winning each series with the Pigs two games to one.
The evening stretched along as both Drew Anderson and Chih-Wei Hu danced around trouble, but Anderson gave up the first run, a solo home run by Austin Meadows in the third inning. Anderson left with that deficit, as the Pigs offense could not strike Hu or the Durham bullpen throughout the night.
The Bulls pushed another run across in the eighth inning against Edubray Ramos with a double from Meadows and a single from Brandon Snyder.
The Pigs' best opportunity of the night came in the first inning when Dean Anna led off with a single followed by and automatic double by Jesmuel Valentin, but Hu struck out the next three batters to strand the pair. Valentin logged a 3-for-4 day at the plate to lead the way for Lehigh Valley.
Lehigh Valley will turn their attention to another first-place foe, this time out of the West Division, when the Indianapolis Indians visit Coca-Cola Park for the only time this season. Thursday is an extended happy hour, where fans can enjoy $1 Berks hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts from 5-7 p.m. Thursday is also Renew Your Vows Night Presented by Lehigh Valley Celebrants.
The 2018 Season is the IronPigs' 11th season at Coca-Cola Park and 11th as the top affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Fans can get closer to the team than ever before with a Bacon, USA membership -- a year-round IronPigs experience pass featuring numerous amenities such as savings on parking at games and at the Majestic Clubhouse Store at Coca-Cola Park, on-field VIP access to watch batting practice, access to the annual holiday party, and more.
