Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
PAWTUCKET, R.I. - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders lost 2-0 to the Pawtucket Red Sox on Saturday night at McCoy Stadium before 7,491 fans in attendance.
Mike Olt gave Pawtucket a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second with a solo home run off Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starter Josh Rogers. The blast sailed into the bullpen and was his fourth this season and the fifth by a PawSox player in the first three games of this series.
Pawtucket added another run against Rogers in the fifth inning to double the lead. The southpaw walked Mike Ohlman before being lifted for reliever Anyelo Gomez, who threw two pitches before leaving with an injury, Jordan Betts singled off Cody Carroll to drive in Ohlman for a 2-0 advantage.
Chandler Shepherd was strong at the start for Pawtucket, tossing seven scoreless innings. The righty entered having allowed 15 runs on 25 hits (.316 BAA) over his first 18.1 innings this season (7.36 ERA), but showed no signs of that Saturday night.
