Pigs Go for Fourth Consecutive Victory Today

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs can take the series and make it four straight at 1:05 p.m. today from Frontier Field in Rochester. The IronPigs have taken the first two games of this four-game set with the Red Wings and currently sit just a half a game behind Syracuse for first place in the IL North.

Tom Eshelman goes for win No. 2 on the season in his first start against the Red Wings. Zack Littell makes his Triple-A debut after getting the call-up from Double-A Chattanooga. Eshelman went 1-1 against Rochester last season He made his Triple-A debut against the Red Wings about a year ago (May 8, 2017) and tossed eight shutout innings. He allowed four hits and struck out eight in a Pigs 9-0 win.

Littell is coming off a dominant 2017 in which he went 19-1 between two levels and two organizations. The Twins' No. 15 prospect according to MLB Pipeline was a 2017 FSL All-Star with Tampa before a promotion to Double-A Trenton where he went 5-0. He was then dealt to the Twins for Jaime Garcia and went 5-0 with a 2.81 ERA in seven starts with Chattanooga.

LAST GAME: Enyel De Los Santos improved to 3-0 on the season, tossing six scoreless innings and leading the IronPigs to an 11-3 victory over the Rochester Red Wings on Friday at Frontier Field. Danny Ortiz hit a pair of two-run home runs in the victory.

Coming off his record-setting three-home-run performance, Dylan Cozens padded the IronPigs' lead with his IL-high seventh homer of the season in the top of the fourth. Cozens currently has an eight-game hitting streak and is batting .429 with four home runs and eight RBIs.

Recently named the Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the month, De Los Santos continued to stifle IL hitters. Allowing three hits and striking out eight, De Los Santos now leads Pigs starters with three wins and is tied with Ranfi Casimiro for the team lead. He has not allowed a run in 12.1 innings and in five starts has a 1.07 ERA.

The Pigs return to Coca-Cola Park on Monday for a three game series against Pawtucket. The seven-game home stand will run through the weekend as the Pigs are set to play a four-game series against Buffalo.
