Today's Game

This afternoon, the Bisons will play game three of their four-game series against the Syracuse Chiefs as part of an overall seven-game homestand. The Rochester Red Wings will visit for three games starting on Monday, then the Herd go back on the road for seven games. The Herd will go on the road to Lehigh Valley and Pawtucket.

Last Game: BUF 4, SYR 3 (10)

C Danny Jansen collected his third RBI of the game on a walk-off base hit in the bottom of the tenth inning to give the Bisons their second straight win. Jansen finished a home run shy of the cycle, cashing in two on a triple in the third as well. RHP Deck McGuire tossed eight innings in his start, giving up two runs and striking out seven.

Today's Starter: RHP Chris Rowley

RHP Chris Rowley is making his fourth start of the season for the Bisons. He notched his second win of the year in his last outing, going six innings against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on April 30. Rowley worked six innings, giving up five hits but just one run in the Herd's 6-2 win. It was the right handers first quality start of the season.

Syracuse (2-0)

The Bisons and Chiefs will play a total of 18 times this season, with 11 coming at Coca-Cola Field. Syracuse will return to Buffalo for four more games May 21-24, with the first meeting at NBT Bank Stadium coming on June 29 for three games. Last year the two teams split the season series with nine wins each.

Tim Lopes

INF Tim Lopes continues to lead the International League in batting with a .415AVG. Lopes went 1-5 in the win against the Chiefs with a third inning double. He now has six extra-base hits in his first year in Triple-A. Lopes is tied with Joey Rickard (NOR) with an IL-best .456OBP as well.

Danny Jansen

C Danny Jansen has gone 4-7 at the plate (.572AVG) against Syracuse in the first two games of the series and has 5RBI for Buffalo as well. The second year Bison has accounted for five of the team's seven runs in the series against Syracuse thus far. His overall season average sits at .316, and he now leads the club with 12RBI.

Bisons Bits

INF Darnell Sweeney had two more hits for Buffalo on Friday to up his batting average to .227, in addition to an RBI in the win...2B Devon Travis had a hit and scored the game-winning run for the Herd...Six of RHP Deck McGuire's seven strike outs came from the sixth inning on. McGuire struck out four in a row with five of his last six outs coming via the strikeout.

Transactions

OF Dwight Smith Jr., and RHP Carlos Ramirez returned from Toronto on Friday, while RHP Connor Eller was called up from Dunedin (Adv-A) prior to last night's ballgame. OF Dalton Pompey and INF Richard Urena were recalled by the Blue Jays, while RHP Jake Petricka's contract was purchased by Toronto as well.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (18-15) dropped the opening game of a three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays 6-2 on Friday night. LHP J.A. Happ took the loss for the Blue Jays in 5.2IP. OF Dalton Pompey relieved OF Curtis Granderson and collected one of the four Blue Jays' hits in the loss. The same two teams will meet on Saturday at 6:10 p.m. RHP Aaron Sanchez will make the start for the Jays.
