(COLUMBUS, OH) - LHP T.J. House tossed seven shutout innings, and center fielder Charlie Tilson singled home the game's only run in the top of the eighth inning to lead the Charlotte Knights to a 1-0 win over the Columbus Clippers on Saturday in game three of their four-game series from Huntington Park in Columbus, OH. Three Charlotte pitchers combined on an impressive two-hit shutout.

Making his fifth start of the season, House (1-3, 6.29) dominated his former teammates over seven masterful innings on Saturday. The 28-year-old left-hander allowed just one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings to earn his first win of the season. House, who spent four seasons with the Clippers from 2013-2016, took a no-hitter into the fifth inning on Saturday. In all, he threw just 80 pitches on the night.

While House was dealing, the Knights were in search of their first run of the game. With help from shortstop Eddy Alvarez, the Knights got their first and only run of the game in the eighth frame. Alvarez led the top of the eighth inning off with a double. He quickly advanced to third base on a 5-3 groundout by left fielder Jacob May. With Alvarez on third and just one out, Tilson quickly changed the game with his RBI single, which gave the Knights a 1-0 lead. It was Tilson's only hit of the game, but it proved to be the most important one on the night.

With the Knights ahead by a score of 1-0, relievers Tyler Danish and Rob Scahill combined to hold the Clippers scoreless over the final two innings. Scahill pitched the ninth and earned his second save of the season. Both Danish and Scahill struck-out two batters in their inning of work.

The Knights will conclude their four-game series against the Columbus Clippers (Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians) on Sunday afternoon. Pre-game radio coverage of Sunday's 2:05 p.m. game will begin at 1:50 p.m. on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and CharlotteKnights.com.
