Columbus Clippers News Release

After a back-and-forth offensive battle last night, pitching was the story of game three between the Columbus Clippers and Charlotte Knights.

The Knights prevailed in the end, as they put up one run in the eighth inning to win it 1-0.

Clippers starter Dominic DeMasi made his Triple-A debut, allowing just two hits in four scoreless innings. He walked and struck out one.

Former Clipper T.J. House was equally as good for Charlotte, as he held the good guys scoreless for all seven of his innings. He allowed just one hit, while walking and striking out two.

Charlotte broke through in the eighth inning when Eddy Alvarez set up a prime scoring chance with a leadoff double off the wall in left. He moved up to third on a groundout and scored on a Charlie Tilson single to center, making it 1-0.

Rob Scahill closed the door on the Clippers in the bottom of the ninth for the save.

The teams will face off for their final game of the series tomorrow afternoon at 2:05 p.m. at Huntington Park.
