Murphy's 29 Not Enough to Lift Stampede over Warriors

BOISE, Idaho - Kevin Murphy scored 29 points as the Idaho Stampede (3-9) fell to the Santa Cruz Warriors (8-4) 120-102 Friday night.
The Warriors' hot shooting (58%) kept them in front for a majority of the game that saw only four lead changes. Joe Alexander led Santa Cruz with 24 points. Elliot Williams posted 21 points and 10 assists, helping the Warriors gain ground on the division leading Bakersfield Jam.
Idaho guard Kevin Murphy led all scorers with 29 points. Joel Wright (28 points) and Jerrelle Benimon (22 points) provided support but the Stampede shot just 43 percent from the field.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow night at CenturyLink Arena.
