Bakersfield Jam News Release

BAKERSFIELD, CA - Renaldo Major became the all-time leading scorer in NBA D-League History Friday night, but the Bakersfield Jam (5-4) fell to the visiting Reno Bighorns (3-3) in overtime by a final score of 135-131. Major finished with a game-high 26 points, surpassing the previous record of 4,324 points held by Fort Wayne Mad Ants guard Ron Howard. Major currently sits at 4,333 career points.

Despite shooting just 39.3 percent from the field in the first half, compared to Reno's 46.0, the Jam went into the break down only three points (60-57). The second half was a see-saw affair that saw 13 ties and 12 lead changes. With 18.4 seconds left in regulation, Elijah Millsap converted a lay-up that tied the game at 121 and ultimately sent it to overtime.

Bakersfield started the overtime session slow, as they allowed Reno to go on a 6-0 run and fell behind 130-124 with 1:27 left on the game clock. Despite the Jam pulling within one point (130-129), the Bighorns made plays down the stretch and pulled away with the victory.

Elijah Millsap nearly recorded a triple-double as he finished with 25 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists to go along with three steals. Mac Koshwal had 23 points and nine rebounds, while Earl Barron posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Xavier Munford contributed 14 points and seven rebounds, while Chris Wright chipped in 11 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Reno were led by David Stockton (25 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds) and Ra'shad James (23 points, 7 rebounds). Brady Heslip and David Wear each tallied 21 points.

The Bakersfield Jam next host the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Monday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
