Mike Pelech Signed to PTO

Peoria Rivemren General Manager Kevin McDonald announced today that the club has signed forward Mike Pelech to a professional tryout contract (PTO).
Pelech, 23, has appeared in 50 games this season with the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) and has recorded 46 points (13g, 33a). The 6'3, 206-pound center has also seen time in 10 American Hockey League games this year with the Connecticut Whale (seven) and Worcester Sharks (three). He recorded his first AHL point with an assist on Jan. 19 while with Worcester.
Overall, the fourth-year pro has appeared in 16 AHL games in his career with Manchester, Norfolk and Connecticut. In 258 career ECHL games he has scored 49 goals and added 124 assists for 173 points to go along with 456 penalty minutes.
A native of Toronto, Pelech was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. He played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League where he collected 170 points (51g, 119a) in 249 games.
The Rivermen continue their season-long road trip on Wednesday in Milwaukee when they face the Admirals at 7 p.m. All games can be heard on CD Country 107.9 FM or online through www.rivermen.net.
