February 25, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

Chicago Wolves captain DARREN HAYDAR has been named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 24, 2013.

HAYDAR tallied 4 goals, 7 points and a +3 plus/minus rating in three games last week, which included his 56th and 57th three-point outings dating back to the start of the 2005-06 season.

The 33-year-old forward helped the team to a 4-3 shootout win over the Abbotsford Heat on Wednesday at the Allstate Arena when he bagged two goals, added an assist, and tallied in the shootout. He had a hand in all three of Chicago's markers in its 3-0 victory at Peoria on Saturday by opening scoring early in the third period and then notching two assists within the next three minutes. HAYDAR also added the lone tally in the Wolves 2-1 loss to Rockford on Sunday.

The Milton, Ontario, native has tallied 13 goals and 26 points in 21 tilts since the start of 2013, which includes 8 markers and 13 points in his last nine outings despite being held scoreless in three of those contests. He paces the Wolves with 17 goals, 23 assists, 40 points, and a +11 plus/minus rating in 45 games this season.

In recognition of his achievement, HAYDAR will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Wolves home game.

The Wolves open a four-game road trip against the Texas Stars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at Cedar Park Center. For more information, or to buy tickets to Wolves home games, visit chicagowolves.com or call 1-800-THE-WOLVES.
