HOUSTON, TX (Tuesday, December 18, 2012) -- The Houston Dynamo will open the 2013 Major League Soccer season on Saturday, March 2, against D.C. United at BBVA Compass Stadium. Kickoff time and broadcast details for the match will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Dynamo are 1-1-2 all-time when opening the MLS season at home and are 3-1-3 all-time in home openers. Houston played United in their 2012 home opener, winning 1-0 in front of a sold-out crowd in the inaugural match at BBVA Compass Stadium.
The Dynamo are coming off their second consecutive trip to the MLS Cup Final and their fourth overall, and are currently riding a 30-game home unbeaten streak in all competitions. Houston holds a 9-4-2 advantage all-time over D.C. in the regular season and defeated United 4-2 on aggregate in last year's Eastern Conference Championship series.
