
Jarrod Parks arrives from Orem; Kevin Moesquit to DL

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that INF Jarrod Parks will join the Kernels from the Orem Owlz (PIO) and that INF Kevin Moesquit has been placed on the 7-day disabled list. Mike LaCassa, Minor League Operations Manager for the LA Angels, announced the move on Monday.
The Angels selected Parks, 24, in the 24th round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft out of Mississippi State University. He played in 21 games for the Kernels last year, batting .169 (12-71) with 7 RBI. This year at Orem, he is batting .275 with 4 HR and 19 RBI in 25 games.
Moesquit is a member of the Kernels 2012 Opening Day Roster and is batting .221 with 13 doubles, 2 HR and 29 RBI in 92 games. He was selected by the Angels in the 17th round of the 2010 First Year Player Draft out of Curacao.
Parks will be in uniform and available for tonight's 6:30 pm game at Kane County. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25, with three players on the disabled list.
The Kernels continue a seven game road trip tonight with a 6:30 pm game at Kane County. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, August 11 at 5:05 pm, to open a six game, seven day home stand with games against Kane County and Quad Cities.
