
Aces Land Four Players on PCL All-Star Team

RENO, Nev.-For the second-straight season, the Reno Aces will send four representatives to the Triple-A All-Star Game, as Jonathan Albaladejo, Adam Eaton, Jake Elmore and Ryan Wheeler have been selected to participate in July's annual showcase.
The 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game is set for Wednesday, July 11 at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, NY. The exhibition featuring the best of the Pacific Coast League against the best of the International League will be broadcast live on MLB Network, the American Forces Network and the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network. In 2013, the Triple-A All-Star Game and its surrounding events will be held in Downtown Reno.
The Aces' four selections are tied for the league-high with Albuquerque and Omaha and matches a franchise record.
Albaladejo has been one of the PCL's most dominant closers this season, tying for the league-high with 13 saves despite a pair of stints in the big leagues. He has a 2.64 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP and 33 strikeouts in 30.2 innings of work. Prior to spending the 2011 season in Japan, Albaladejo was an International League All-Star in 2010 for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Eaton has emerged as one of baseball's premier up-and-coming leadoff hitters in his first Triple-A season. Through the season's first 80 games, he leads all Minor League batters in hits and ranks second in the PCL in batting average (.388) and on-base percentage (.462). Eaton also ranks among the league leaders in runs scored (1st), doubles (T-2nd), total bases (4th) and stolen bases (4th). He was a California League All-Star last season.
Elmore has made the most of his first season in Triple-A, leading the PCL in batting average and on-base percentage. He recently concluded a 31-game hitting streak, which was the longest in the league since 2004. He ranks third in the PCL in hits (105), second with 24 stolen bases, third in runs scored (68), fifth in triples (6) and tied for fourth in walks (42).
Wheeler, also making his Triple-A debut, has driven-in four more runs than any other Minor League hitter. He ranks second among all PCL batters in hits (106) and third in batting average (.366). Wheeler has recorded 46 hits in the month of June-six more than any other Minor League batter and two shy of a franchise record.
Albaladejo, Eaton, Elmore, Wheeler and the rest of the Aces will take on the Fresno Grizzlies tonight at Aces Ballpark.
