Browning Tabbed as PCL All-Star

MEMPHIS, TN - Memphis Redbirds reliever Barret Browning has been selected to the Pacific Coast League's 2012 All-Star team.

Browning leads the league with the lowest batting average against at .189, allowing 23 hits in 122 at-bats. He has accumulated a 2.00 ERA, the lowest amongst the Redbird hurlers, giving up 10 run, eight earned, in 36 innings pitched in 29 appearances out of the bullpen. The southpaw has walked 18 while fanning 34 batters, surrendering only one home run on the season.

Memphis pitching coach Blaise Ilsley will also represent the Redbirds as the PCL pitching coach.

The PCL All-Stars will take on the International League All-Stars in the 25rd Annual Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 11 at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, NY. The matchup will be broadcast live on MLB Network, the American Forces Network, the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network and Sports56 WHBQ.
