Beloit, WI- The Beloit Snappers faced off against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in game three of the series Monday night at 7:00 PM. After an early Beloit power surge that gave the Snappers a 5-1 lead, the Timber Rattlers rallied back to beat the Snappers 9-8 in a back and forth game.

After Snappers pitcher Tim Shibuya gave up one run in the top of the first inning, AJ Pettersen and Eddie Rosario got on base in front of slugger Miguel Sano who crushed a huge three run home run to left field putting the Snappers up 3-1.

In the bottom of the second inning the Snappers rallied for more runs as catcher Jairo Rodriguez got things started with his hot shot double down the third base line past Timber Rattlers third baseman Brandon Macias. With Rodriguez on second base, Snappers All-Star shortstop Tyler Grimes smashed a double off the centerfield wall making it 4-1. Rosario then hit a sacrifice fly to left field scoring Grimes giving the Snappers a comfortable 5-1 lead.

With the Timber Rattlers trailing by four, outfielder Chadwin Stang led of the top of the third with a single. After two straight walks, Timber Rattler cleanup hitter Nick Ramirez stepped to the plate and launched a grand slam over the right field wall tying the game at five. In the bottom of the third Snappers designated hitter Matt Koch hit a solo home run giving the lead back to Beloit at 6-5.

With the Snappers leading again, Chadwin Stang came up clutch for the Timber Rattlers as he had a leadoff walk and then stole second base which set the table for third baseman Brandon Macias who then hit an RBI single to left tying the game at six. Snapper starter Tim Sibuya was taken out of the game for reliever Ryan O'Rourke and Timber Rattler right fielder Max Walla responded with an RBI single off of O'Rourke. The run was charged to Shibuya, and gave the Timber Rattlers the 7-6 lead.

After the Snappers had a scoreless bottom half of the fourth, Timber Rattler second baseman Carlos George hit a two RBI double making it 9-6. In the bottom of the fifth, Eddie Rosario had a leadoff single for the Snappers but nothing came of it.

Jason Rogers hit his team leading 18th double in the top of the sixth but Ryan O'Rourke shut the Rattlers down ending any sort of rally. In the bottom of the sixth Jairo Rodriguez led off with a walk and Tyler Grimes was hit by a pitch setting up a Wang-Wei Lin bloop single that scored Rodriguez making the score 9-7.

The seventh and eighth innings were quiet but the bottom of the ninth provided some dramatics. With two quick outs by Timber Rattler closer Seth Harvey, slugger Miguel Sano hit a two out double. Drew Leachman, then hit a single scoring Sano making the score 9-8 Timber rattlers. Jhon Goncalves then walked setting the table for Designated hitter Matt Koch worked the count full with runners on first and second but stuck out ending the game giving the Wisconsin Timber rattlers the victory and a two game lead in the Western Division.

The Snappers now hit the road for a six-game road trip starting with a three-game set with the Burlington Bees on Wednesday. Jason Wheeler, who is 7-1 with a 3.23 ERA faces off against Bees' RHP Drew Granier, who is 7-2 with a 2.10. The team heads to Appleton Saturday for a three-game series against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. The Snappers will return home on Tuesday, June 12 for a six-game home stand starting with a three game series against the Peoria Chiefs. The Snappers will host two post-game fireworks shows. The shows will be Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16.
