Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today Food Allergy Awareness Day at Prince George's Stadium Sunday, June 3, 2012 as the team hosts the Reading Phillies at 2:05 p.m. It's an opportunity for fans with food allergies that would typically keep them away from a baseball game to spend an afternoon at the ballpark in an allergen free environment.
"This great annual event will provide a safe and healthy environment for our fans affected by food allergies," said Rogers. "So many people often skip the ballgame because of their situation, and we want to give them the opportunity to experience the fun and excitement of a Baysox baseball game. We hope to further raise awareness about the striking number of people who are touched by Celiac Disease and a multitude of other food-related allergies."
Fans participating in Food Allergy Awareness Day will have the option to watch the game from the Gluten-Free Suite or the Food-Free Suite.
Gluten-Free Suite tickets are priced at $14.50 and fans will watch the game from the Exclusive Suite Level. Tickets will include a voucher for a hot dog on a gluten-free bun, chips, regular soft drink and a gluten-free cookie. All gluten-free food will be provided by One Dish Cuisine.
The Food-Free Suite tickets are priced at $12.00 and fans will also enjoy the game from the Exclusive Suite Level. The suites will be cleaned extensively before the game and will be kept clear of all food during game time. Fans are permitted to bring bottled water and soda into the suite during the game, and can choose to watch the game from the climate controlled luxury box or from an outdoor balcony in front of the suite.
