Fireworks, Reading Club Games Highlight Sounds Eight-Game Homestand

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds return home to Greer Stadium this Tuesday, May 10, to open an eight-game homestand against the Fresno Grizzlies (Giants affiliate) and Sacramento River Cats (Athletics affiliate) of the Pacific Coast League Northern Division.

Highlighting the week's worth of promotions will be two fireworks shows, three Reading Club Games, Teacher Appreciation Night, and Taco Bell Throwback Thursday.

Tuesday night's 7:05 p.m. homestand opener with Fresno will be KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets, when fans will be able to bring in a KRAFT Singles package wrapper/proof of purchase to the box office for a Buy One Get One Free ticket offer. Gates open at 6:05 p.m.

Wednesday morning's 11:05 a.m. contest is the first Reading Club game of the homestand, offering students the chance to participate in an on-field, pre-game parade with Ozzie. Students are eligible to win prizes for reaching "home plate" in the program. Gates open a half-hour earlier than normal at 9:35 a.m.

Sounds players will be wearing retro 1980s-style uniforms for another Taco Bell Throwback Thursday while fans enjoy concession stands filled with discounted pricing, such as $2 beer, $2 soft drinks, $2 hot dogs, $2 popcorn, and $2 nachos. Beer sales will conclude at the end of the 6th inning, while Slugger's Sports Bar will sell until the end of game. Fans with Taco Bell receipts and college students with valid college IDs will receive $5 general admission tickets to the game. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6:05 p.m.

Adding to the excitement of the homestand, Friday's 7:05 p.m. series finale with the Grizzlies will end with a bang, as Firestone Friday Fireworks light up the sky following the action on the field. Gates open at 6:05 p.m.

As the Sacramento River Cats visit Music City for Saturday's 6:35 p.m. contest, kids are offered another chance to win prizes on the second Reading Club Game of the homestand. With nearly 65,000 students from over 225 different schools enrolled in the program, thousands of local kids will be in attendance. It is also Teacher Appreciation Night, as all teachers, school staff, and administrators presenting a school ID (or school pay stub) at the box office will receive one free ticket for the game. Combined with postgame Fireworks, courtesy of Nashville's NEWS2, Saturday evening is another can't miss night at the ballpark with the Nashville Sounds! Gates open at 5:35 p.m.

Sunday afternoon's 2:05 p.m. matinee against the River Cats will be a Purity Sundae Sunday with $1 ice cream sundaes available at Greer Stadium. As part of Hot Dog Adoption Day, dogs will be available for adoption outside the stadium on the plaza while country music star Emmylou Harris sings the National Anthem. The third game of the four-game series with Sacramento starts at 7:05 p.m. on Monday. Hot dogs are priced at only $1 at concession stands for Dollar Dog Night, while fans can register to win prizes and experiences involving Sounds manager Don Money for Money Monday. Gates open at 6:05 p.m.

Tuesday morning's 11:05 a.m. homestand finale offers chances for kids to win prizes on the third Reading Club Game of the homestand. Following the homestand, Nashville will travel out west to begin an eight-game road trip with the Salt Lake Bees (Angels affiliate) and Tacoma Rainiers (Mariners affiliate) before returning to home on Tuesday, May 27 to host an eight-game homestand against the Oklahoma City RedHawks (Astros affiliate) and Iowa Cubs (Cubs affiliate).
