Drive Experience Role Reversal, Lose 11-2

Greenville Drive News Release
Greenville, SC - Having been outscored by 17 combined runs in the previous two contests at Fluor Field, the visiting Charleston RiverDogs (3-4) were looking for some payback Wednesday night. Mission accomplished, as the team from the Lowcountry tallied 19 hits en route to an 11-2 victory.
It seemed as if the Drive (5-2) and RiverDogs traded place in another area as well, as Greenville committed five errors, leading to three unearned runs.
Despite allowing only one run in the top of the first inning, Kyle Stroup (0-1) just didn't appear to be comfortable on the mound in his second start of the season. The right-hander was able to get out of a bases loaded jam, but surrendered a second run in the top of the second when Kelvin Castro laced a leadoff triple and scored on Jose Mojica's single.
The RiverDogs began to pull away in the top of the fourth, sending eight batters to the dish and scoring four times to extend their lead to 6-1. It would be Stroup's final frame as he exited before the start of the fifth, having surrendered 12 hits.
Reliever Keith Couch, who like Stroup entered the game with a 0.00 ERA, was tagged with a solo homer by Ramon Flores in the top of the sixth inning. Two innings later, he was tagged for two more runs, albeit two were unearned.
While Charleston was constantly crossing home plate, the Drive's bats cooled off after accumulating 37 runs in the previous three games. Bryce Brentz recorded his team-leading 11th RBI in the bottom of the first, but it would be Greenville's only run until the bottom the seventh.
Standing at just 5'8", Sean Coyle ripped a 3-2 offering from Mike Gipson to deep left-centerfield.
The Drive and RiverDogs conclude their four-game series tomorrow evening with first pitch set for 7:05 PM from Fluor Field. Right-hander Anthony Ranaudo (01-0, 0.00 ERA) will toe the slab for Greenville, while Charleston counters with a right-hander of their own in Mikey O'Brien (0-0, 3.00 ERA).
Thursday is also Dollar Drink Night at Fluor Field, in which fans can purchase 12 ounce Pepsi products at any of the concession stand for just $1. Meanwhile, those fans at least 21-years-of-age can saddle up to The 500 Club for draft specials.
