DES MOINES, IA, April 3, 2011 - The #1 seed Iowa Energy will face the #7 seed Utah Flash in the 1st round of the 2011 NBA D-League playoffs starting Wednesday in Orem, Utah. The best-of-three series is a rematch of a 1st round series last year, won by the Energy two games to one.

Iowa will travel to Utah for game 1 on Wednesday at 8 pm CDT. The two teams will return to Iowa for game 2 on Monday, April 11th at 7pm. Game 3, if necessary, would be played Tuesday, April 12th at 7pm.

The Energy (37-13) defeated Utah (28-22) in both matchups this season. The first game was at the annual D-League Showcase in South Padre Island, TX. Iowa used a buzzer-beating jump shot to force overtime against the Flash, and a Curtis Stinson bucket with no time remaining gave the Energy a 95-93 win.

Less than a month later, the Energy defeated Utah 114-97 in Des Moines. Stinson recorded a triple-double in that contest with 13 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds.

Under the D-League's unique playoff format, the top-seed Energy were allowed to select their 1st round opponent from teams seeded 5-8.

The winner of the Iowa/Utah series will face the winner of the Tulsa/Texas series. Texas entered the postseason as the 8th seed, but were passed over by the top three seeds in the selection process.

Tickets for the Energy's home playoff games will go on sale tomorrow morning at 10 AM. Fans can purchase tickets at www.iowanba.com, by calling 564-8550 or at the arena box office.
