Jam to Face Vipers in First Round of Playoffs

BAKERSFIELD, April 3, 2011- Rio Grande Valley Vipers (33-17), the No. 3 seed, chose the sixth-seeded Bakersfield Jam (29-21), to face in the first round of the 2011 NBA D-League Playoffs. The series will tip off on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m. PT at Bakersfield. Game 2 and 3 (if necessary), will be played at Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday, April 12, and Wednesday, April 13, respectively.

For the third consecutive year, the top three seeds in the NBA D-League playoffs - the two conference champions and the wild card team with the best regular season record - had the opportunity to select their first round opponent among the four lowest-seeded playoff teams.

The Jam are 2-2 against the Vipers this season, splitting a series at State Farm Arena in December and splitting a series at the Jam Events Center in March. The winner of this series will face the winner of the series between the second-seeded Reno Bighorns and the fifth-seeded Erie BayHawks.
