BayHawks Host Reno to Start First Round Playoff Series

Erie, Pennsylvania, Sunday, April 3, 2011 ¬" The Erie BayHawks will host the franchise ¬â¢s first-ever home playoff game when they face the regular season Western Conference Champion Reno Bighorns on Sunday, April 10 at 5 pm at Tullio Arena. Sunday ¬â¢s matchup is game one of a best-of-three game series in the first round of the NBA Development League Playoffs. Game two and, if necessary, game three will be played in Reno on April 12 and 14.
Fans can purchase tickets for Sunday ¬â¢s game starting Monday morning at 10 a.m. by visiting the Tullio Arena box office, calling 452-4857 or online at ticketmaster.com.
First round matchups were determined by the top four seeds choosing their opponents from the remaining four wildcard qualifiers. Iowa (1st seed) selected Utah (7th seed), followed by Reno (2nd seed) choosing Erie (5th seed), Rio Grande Valley (3rd seed) picked Bakersfield (6th seed), leaving Tulsa (4th seed) to play Texas (8th seed).
Erie, winners of their last three games, finished with a record of 32-18 good for second place in the Eastern Conference. Reno won their conference with a record of 34-16 including winning their final eight games of the season. The two teams faced off just once this season with Reno winning at home, 100-89 on March 16.
The winner of the Erie-Reno series will play the winner of the Rio Grande Valley-Bakersfield series in round two.
