Reno Bighorns News Release

RENO, Nev.- The Western Conference-champion Reno Bighorns selected the Erie BayHawks as their first-round opponent in the 2011 playoffs, with Game 1 set for Sunday, April 10 at 5 p.m. ET in Erie's Louis J. Tullio Arena.

The 34-16 Reno Bighorns-the second-overall seed in the 2011 playoffs-had the option of choosing Erie, Bakersfield or Texas after the top-seeded Iowa Energy chose to play the Utah Flash. In the NBA Development League, the top three overall seeds get to choose their opponents in the first round of the playoffs.

"Our staff and players met last night on the bus for several hours trying to decide who to play, but we could not reach a consensus. We have such great respect for all three of those teams that our staff and I drew a name out of a hat immediately before our selection," Bighorns head coach Eric Musselman said.

Pursuant to D-League rules, the lower-seeded team plays Game 1 at home, while the higher-seeded team plays host to Games 2 and 3.

Reno's first home game (Game 2) is set for Tuesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. in the Reno Events Center. Game 3 would be played on Thursday, April 14 at 7 p.m. PT in the Reno Events Center, if necessary.

In the clubs' lone matchup during the regular season, Reno defeated Erie on March 16 in the Reno Events Center, 100-89. The win over Erie started the Bighorns' season-ending, franchise-record eight-game winning streak.

Bighorns playoff ticket packages are on sale now, and can be purchased by calling (775) 284-2622 or visiting RenoBighorns.com. Fans can purchase tickets to all six potential playoff games, with any extra game tickets being refunded or credited to a 2011-12 ticket plan.
