Bakersfield Falls to Reno in Regular Season Finale

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Jam lost to the Reno Bighorns by a score of 94-83 at the Jam Events Center Saturday night. Reno (34-16) clinched their first-ever Western Conference championship. Bakersfield clinched the 6th seed in the 2011 NBA D-League Playoffs.

The Jam jumped out to an early lead, being up by as many as 9, behind Drew Naymick's 9 point performance to take a 29-26 lead after the first. Marcus Landry three-pointer tied the game at 29 to open up the 2nd quarter. On the next possession, Doug Thomas made a lay-up, his only points of the game, to put Reno up 31-29, a lead they would not relinquish for the rest of the game. Being up 52-43 at the half, Reno came out on a 9-0 run to start the second half. The Jam outscored the Bighorns 22-15 in the final period behind Willie Warren's 8 point effort, but it wasn't enough to make a comeback.

Los Angeles Clippers assignee, Willie Warren, led the Jam with 22 points, while Drew Naymick finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Wallace also had a double-double coming off the bench with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Los Angeles Lakers assignee, Derrick Caracter, and Adam Koch both added 9 points and 8 rebounds each.

Marcus Landry led Reno with 21 points. Five other Bighorns players scored in double figures this evening.

The Bakersfield Jam concluded the 2010-11 regular season with a 29-21 record, best in franchise history. The 2011 NBA D-League Playoff match-ups will be announced tomorrow.
