Peoria, IL - The Peoria Chiefs fell behind early, came back to tie the game, and then fell behind for good on Monday, losing to the Bowling Green Hot Rods by the score of 7-5. The loss drops the Chiefs to 10-12 in the second half of the season and 47-44 overall.

The Hot Rods got their first run of the series across in the second inning off starter Su-Min Jung. Tomas Francisco reached on an infield single and came around to score on a Robi Estrada double to right center to give Bowling Green a 1-0 lead.

He advanced to third on a balk and scored on a fielding error by Justin Bour at first base on a grounder off the bat of Robi Estrada to make it 4-0.

The Chiefs came all the way back to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth off starter Jason McEachern. Bour led off with a single and Nelson Perez crushed a pitch over the left field wall for an opposite-field home run to cut the Hot Rods' lead in half. Jae-Hoon Ha followed with a single and scored on a Luis Flores homer to left center to tie the game 4-4.

The Hot Rods regained the lead in the eighth off reliever Jordan Latham. Kyle Spraker reached on a throwing error by Charles Thomas and advanced to third on a Dustin Biell single. Francisco laid down a sacrifice bunt and reached safely on an error by Flores, who dropped the ball attempting to tag out Spraker at the plate. During the play Biell and Francisco advanced to second and third; both later scored in the inning on a Morrison single to make it 7-4.

The Chiefs got one back in the ninth off reliever Scott Shuman. With one out and the bases empty Bour hammered a pitch to left field for a home run to cut the Bowling Green lead to 7-5. Perez singled to keep the rally going but Jonathon Mota struck out and Ha grounded out to first to end the game.
