Weller Added To National Conference All-Star Team
January 12, 2010 - ECHL (ECHL) - Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, announced today the ECHL has added Condors LW Shawn Weller to the National Conference Team for the 2010 All-Star Game. The All-Star Skills Competition takes place on Tuesday, Jan. 19 and the game is on Wednesday, Jan. 20, in Ontario, California.
Weller, 22, is the Condors team captain and leading scorer, ranking t-10th in the league with 36 points in 33 games. He also leads the club in assists (24) and plus/minus (+13), while he is just one goal off the team lead with 12. Originally a third-round pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2004, Weller was acquired by Anaheim in 2009. He is replacing fellow Condor C MacGregor Sharp on the roster, as Sharp is currently with San Antonio in the American Hockey League.
The ECHL also announced that Condors RW Dan Sexton, who is currently recalled to Anaheim and will not be playing in the game, has been replaced by Stockton Thunder C Chris D'Alvise.
Weller joins fellow Condors teammates Sexton, Sharp, D Eric Regan and G Timo Pielmeier as players named to the team, as well as Head Coach Marty Raymond, who will be behind the National Conference bench.
