Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms have added to their pregame festivities for Friday night's game against the Lowell Devils.

32-year-old David Akers of Abington, a Phanavision representative at Citizen's Bank Park, will also be taking part in the pregame ceremonial puck drop before the 7:05 contest between the Phantoms and Devils. Akers will join 31-year-old Andy Reid, a sales representative from Philadelphia, in dropping the first puck. Both are no relation to their actual counterparts with the Eagles, but the similar nomenclature has brought attention to both during the Eagles career of their kicker and head coach, respectively.

In regards to Sunday's game against the Albany River Rats, the Phantoms have moved the start time to 7:05, two hours later than the original start time. The move was made to better accommodate fans wishing to watch the Eagles-Cardinals game at 3:00. Fans are invited to come to the Wachovia Spectrum early to watch the Eagles game in Bullies Restaurant, which will open with a full menu at 3:00 and will stay open through the Phantoms game later in the evening.

Sunday remains a very special day for the Phantoms. The team will be wearing their first specialty jersey of the season, a replica of the jerseys worn by the Campbell Conference in the 1976 NHL All-Star Game. Flyers alums Jimmy Watson and Rick MacLeish, two of the players who represented the Flyers in that game, will be on hand to drop the first puck. Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off in Bullies Restaurant.
