COMSTOCK PARK, MI - Whitecaps second baseman Justin Henry was named the Midwest League Topps Player of the Month for July. The honor was announced today by the Topps Company of New York, in conjunction with the Minor League Baseball.

Henry started to turn it on in the second half of the season, hitting .396 (38-for-96) with 17 runs scored, 11 RBI and five stolen bases in July. His .396 average was tops in the Midwest League in hitting, two points ahead of Kane County's Michael Richard, who tied with Henry for the Topps award for the month.

The former University of Mississippi product is hitting .301 (125-for-415) with 21 doubles, one home run, 40 RBI, 67 runs scored and 22 stolen bases in 105 games this season. Henry was drafted by the Tigers in the ninth round of the 2007 draft. He made his professional debut in 2007 at short-season Oneonta by hitting .340 (85-for-250) in 67 games before starting the 2008 season in West Michigan.
