Fort Wayne, IN - Two days after reaching an agreement on a new, two-year Player Development Contract with the Fort Wayne Wizards, the San Diego Padres organization is offering everyone free tickets to the Wizards and South Bend Silver Hawks game at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14.

"The Wizards organization has been tremendous to work with and their fans have been very supportive of the teams we have put on the field," said Grady Fuson, Vice President of Scouting and Player Development for the Padres. "This is our way of saying thank you for your support since 1999 and for your support through the 2010 season."

Fans can pick up the free tickets at the Memorial Stadium ticket office starting at 5:00 p.m.

Fans can also pick up tickets for tonight's game at the Wizards Administrative Offices or the Memorial Coliseum Ticket Office until 5:00 p.m.

Part of the festivities tonight include a Thirsty Thursday sponsored by 92.3 FM The Fort, with $2.00 16 ounce beers and 20 ounce fountain drinks and a special post-game performance by The Marching Cobras, an inner-city drum corps group from Kansas City, Missouri.

The first 1,000 fans will also receive an IDEARC Media Wizards-logo hat.

The Wizards are currently in the hunt for the final playoff spot in the second half of the Midwest League's Eastern Division split-season. Fort Wayne trails the Dayton Dragons by three games for the fourth and final spot in the playoffs from the Eastern Division.

"This is a unique opportunity for fans to come out and see the Wizards thanks to the Padres," said Wizards General Manager Mike Nutter. "By presenting this offer, this emphasizes one of the main reasons why they have been a great Major League team to work with over the years."

No phone orders will be accepted. Fans must pick up tickets in person to receive the special offer.
