Phoenix RoadRunners News Release
PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the San Jose Sharks and the Worcester Sharks, have acquired veteran forward Dusty Jamieson from the Charlotte Checkers in exchange for forward Justin Maiser.
Jamieson, 26, was second on the Checkers with 17 goals and also added nine assists for 26 points in 53 games. The Forest, Ontario native and sixth-year professional began his professional career in Charlotte back in 2002-03, and has played all but 10 games in a Checkers uniform. Jamieson led Charlotte in goals in four out of his five full seasons, and also led the club in scoring twice, including the 2005-06 season where tallied career-highs with 30 goals, 31 assists, and 61 points in 62 games.
Jamieson has been named the ECHL's In Glas Co Player of the Week twice in his career, and was also named the CCM Tacks Player of the Month in October, 2006 after he opened the 2006-07 season with hat-tricks in the first two games, becoming just the fifth ECHL player since 1997 to record three goals in consecutive games.
Jamieson also represented Charlotte and the Eastern Conference at the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game in Peoria, Ill. He has 10 American Hockey League games to his credit with one assist after two separate stints with Hartford in 2003-04 and Binghamton in 2005-06.
Jamieson's career totals include 139 goals, 111 assists, and 250 points in 308 professional games.
Maiser leaves the RoadRunners after collecting 18 goals, 31 points, and 102 penalty minutes in 54 games.
