
Monych, Rouleau Assigned To RoadRunners

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners, a proud affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have announced that forward Lance Monych has been re-assigned to the team by the Coyotes and defenseman Alexandre Rouleau has been assigned by San Antonio of the American Hockey League.
Monych, 22, tallied 11 goals and 21 points in 26 games with the Stockton Thunder last season after being re-assigned by the Coyotes from San Antonio on Feb. 16. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native and second-year pro appeared in 37 games with the Rampage and also tallied four goals in three games with the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League. Drafted in the fourth round by Phoenix at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Monych netted 110 goals and 236 points in 319 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League.
Rouleau, 23, notched five goals and a career-best 25 points in 71 games with the Wheeling Nailers in 2005-06 to finish third among Nailers' defensemen in scoring. The Mont-Laurier, Quebec native and fourth-year pro was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round at the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and logged 14 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins during the 2003-04 season. Rouleau led the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to the 2003 Memorial Cup with 16 goals and 45 points in 55 games, good for seventh overall in scoring among QMJHL defensemen. He also represented Team Canada at the 2003 World Junior Championships where he recorded one assist in six games. Rouleau has 11 goals, 47 points, and 295 penalty minutes in 185 games.

Opening Night 2006 at US Airways Center will be on Friday, Oct. 20 when the RoadRunners welcome the Utah Grizzlies at 7:11PM for the first game of an opening weekend three-game series. Information on season tickets, half-season packages, and flex plans are available by calling (602) 462-GOAL.
