Thunderbirds Sign Forward Ryan Glazer to PTO

July 30, 2025 - WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Carolina Thunderbirds, proud members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL), have signed forward Ryan Glazer to a professional tryout contract (PTO) ahead of the 2025-2026 season. Ryan Glazer, 23, Forward, of Montréal, Québec, joins the Thunderbirds following three seasons at SUNY Morrisville (NCAA DIII, Morrisville, New York). He appeared in fifty-three games during his collegiate career with the Mustangs. Glazer scored nine goals and recorded twelve assists for twenty-one total... Full Story

Thunderbirds Announce Transaction with Breakers

July 21, 2025 - WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Carolina Thunderbirds, proud members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL), have acquired defenseman Don Carter Jr. and goaltender Ed Coffey from the Biloxi Breakers, in exchange for forward Vladislav Pavlov. Don Carter Jr, 29, Forward, of Antioch, California, appeared in fifty-four games last season for the Biloxi Breakers, formerly Mississippi Sea Wolves. Thunderbirds Bring Back Buttitta and Kraemer, Sign Davis to PTO's

July 2, 2025 - Winston-Salem, NC - The Carolina Thunderbirds, proud members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, have signed captain Jon Buttitta, forward Roman Kraemer and forward Jhuwon Davis to PTO's ahead of the 2025-26 season. Buttitta, who will enter his eighth season in the FPHL and sixth with Carolina, returns to the Thunderbirds following a 39-point season last year. Buttitta notched his 100th career goal on November 22nd, 2024, against the Columbus River Dragons, and eclipsed 300 points in the FPHL later in the season. The ... Full Story

Steven Ford Returns to Carolina in Trade with Indiana

July 1, 2025 - Winston-Salem, NC - The Carolina Thunderbirds, proud members of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, have announced the completion of a trade with the Indiana Sentinels. The Thunderbirds have traded for defenseman Steven Ford who returns to Carolina after playing in 23 games for the organization last season. Ford, a native of Dallas, Texas, tallied seven points for the Thunderbirds last season, before he was traded to HC Venom on March 10th.
