Bryce Montgomery Joins Gargoyles, Reassigned by Chicago

January 8, 2026 - GREENSBORO, NC - The Greensboro Gargoyles, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL Carolina Hurricanes and the AHL Chicago Wolves, announced today that defenseman Bryce Montgomery has been reassigned from the AHL and will be joining the team in Boise, ID to finish their road trip. Montgomery was drafted 170th overall by the Hurricanes in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL Draft. The 6-5, 220 pound blue liner is signed to an NHL contract with Carolina. Gargoyles Tie Game in Third But Fall 5-3 in Opener against Idaho

January 8, 2026 - BOISE, ID - The Greensboro Gargoyles scored twice in the third period to tie the game against the Idaho Steelheads but fell 5-3 in the first of a three game road trip out west. After the Gargoyles found 11 of the first 15 shots, Brendan Hoffman opened the scoring for Idaho 10:46 into the game. Hoffman assisted the Steelheads second goal as Robbie Holmes gave them a 2-0 lead. Gargoyles Forward Ethan Leyh Named to ECHL All-Star Team

January 7, 2026 - GREENSBORO, NC - The Greensboro Gargoyles are pleased to announce that forward Ethan Leyh has been named as an ECHL All-Star for the 2026 Warrior/ECHL All-Star Classic presented by Visit Allen, Texas and Allen CDC, to be hosted by the Allen Americans on Monday, Jan. 19 at 6:00 p.m. CT at Credit Union of Texas Event Center. Ethan Leyh Loaned to Chicago

January 7, 2026 - GREENSBORO, NC - The Greensboro Gargoyles, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL Carolina Hurricanes and AHL Chicago Wolves, announced yesterday that forward Ethan Leyh has been loaned to the Chicago Wolves to make his second trip up with the AHL club. Leyh was called up on December 20, when he made his ECHL debut for the Wolves against the Iowa Wild.
