
Z's Win a Wild One in Memphis

Neil Wilson drove in three runs and the Zephyrs offense awoke from a slumber scoring 12 runs off of 16 hits and snapped a three game losing streak. The Z's held off the Memphis Redbirds 12-7 in front of 5,531 fans at Autozone Park. The loss snapped Memphis seven game win streak. The Z's offense was batting just .200 in its last five losses on this roadie and have been held to one run three times. Brian Barden picked up two more hits and two RBI to extend his hit streak to 16 games. The teams battled back and forth in the early innings with the Z's taking the lead for good in the third inning. Bryan Peterson ripped a two run home run and Wes Whisler picked up the win for the Z's. Oneli Perez took the loss for Memphis.
Game Notes: Brian Barden extended his hit streak to 16 games, a season best for the Zephyrs. Barden is batting .455 (25x55) during the streak. The Z's are 3-8 on the 13 game road trip. The Z's added catcher Miguel Fermin from Class A Jupiter. He replaces Chris Hatcher, whom was reassigned to Class AA Jacksonville. The Z's picked up win number 64 on the season, they finished with 63 in 2009. The gametime of 3:45 was the longest 9 inning game time of the season.
Coming up - The Zephyrs will continue the trip in Memphis on Wednesday at 7:05. The Z's will start RH Adalberto Mendez (5-3, 3.56) against LH Evan MacLane (7-7, 4.28) . RADIO: 106.1 FM
