Former Zephyr pitcher Sun Woo Kim pitched seven innings and silenced the Zephyr offense as Fresno defeated the Zephyrs 2-1 on Tuesday evening. The Z's have dropped three consecutive contests and have fallen to 2-5 on the west coast road-trip.
New Orleans started the scoring with a Fernando Tatis solo home run in the first inning, his 17th home run of the season. Fresno struck in the bottom of the first inning with Luis Figueroa two run home run over the right field wall. The Z's loaded the bases in the fifth inning when Ricky Ledee popped up on the infield to end the inning. Kim worked seven innings, allowed one run off of six hits and earned his fourth win of the season.
Run support for Mike Pelfrey continued to be the issue, he pitched six innings and allowed two runs and is the losing pitcher. Mike The Fresno bullpen pitched two perfect innings and Brian Wilson earned his 11th save of the season. Fresno leads the series 3-0. The Z's have been swept one time this season back in May against Iowa.
